Spacex (falcon Structures)
During the Summer of 2022 I was a Falcon Structures Intern at SpaceX, working on structures and systems for Falcon 9 and Heavy. The majority of my work is under NDA, so unfortunately specific details cannot be included on this portfolio. From a high-level, I worked on joint qualification for Falcon Interstage, and fluid drainage systems of the second-stage Merlin engine.

FINITE ELEMENT MODELING

I used FEMAP (NASTRAN) and ANSYS to perform nonlinear analysis on composite and metallic hardware. I learned how to use the solver controls for convergence and determine composite failure indices, as well as the logic behind the Newton-Raphson method. Furthermore, I used model setups and used RBEs and CBUSHes to model various constraints and joints, as well as the settings for ANSYS contact-based models.
